Abstract: The analysis of both demographic structure and normative changes influence on the pension system in the Czech Republic between 2000 and 2005 was conducted. In the researched period the number of population was characterised by a falling tendency and the population growth rate had negative values in the interval from –0.6% to –1.8%. However, the demographic dynamics rate had a growing tendency. Between 2000 and 2005 the share of population at productive age (of 15-64) and non-productive age (65 and more) increased. Moreover, in the investigated period the system dependency ratio fell. It comes from a higher number of insured in comparison to beneficiaries. Simultaneously the revenues and expenditures preserve an increasing tendency. It can be stated that the demographic situation was improved and together with the introduced reform of pension system, it led to its financial stability.

Abstract in polish: Systemy emerytalne zostały zapoczątkowane na przełomie XIX i XX wieku. Ewolucja systemów emerytalnym zmieniła ich zakres podmiotowy i przedmiotowy, wzrost poziomu świadczeń, a także sposoby pozyskiwania środków finansowych prze-znaczonych na świadczenia. Wynika to przede wszystkim ze zmian zachodzących w strukturze demograficznej ludności. Obecnie w większości krajów UE występuje pro-ces starzenia się społeczeństwa, który w znacznym stopniu oddziałuje na system zabezpieczenia emerytalnego. Zmieniające się warunki demograficzne zapoczątkowały wprowadzenie licznych zmian w systemach emerytalnych. W opracowaniu dokonano analizy wpływu przeobrażeń struktury demograficznej ludności oraz zmian normatywnych na system emerytalny, funkcjonujący w Republice Czeskiej w latach 2000-2005.
